As an organization, we believe that the diversity of our rich cultural heritage is a source of strength that contributes to a thriving community in Alberta. When you become a member with Africa Centre, you are able to actively contribute towards enriching the lives of the African descent community. Membership is open to all individuals and registered organizations who ascribe to the vision and objectives of Africa Centre.
Both organizational and individual members have the right to attend membership meetings, vote and to stand for election to the Board of Africa Centre.

Membership Types
Organizational Member
An organizational member is a registered organization that represents African descent community groups in the Province of Alberta.
For example, an organization member can be national, cultural, religious, professional, sport or other demographic organizations.
Individual Member
An individual member is an African descent community member residing in the Province of Alberta.
Individual members shall be willing to provide a minimum of 12 hours of volunteering per year to Africa Centre to be eligible for membership.
Affiliate Member
An Affiliate Member shall be representative of non-African organizations, initiatives of interest, or community support, including partners, champions, and associations.
Honourary Member
Honorary membership can be granted from time to time to corporations, organizations and distinguished members of the Society who may or may not be of African descent for their assistance in promoting the objectives of the Society and High Commissions in Canada. The selection of Honorary members is made by Africa Centre Board of Directors.
Membership Fees
Individual Voting Membership: $20.00 per year (free for youth (15-25) and seniors (over 55)).
Organizational Voting Membership: $100.00 per year.
There shall be no fee for the non-voting membership types, Affiliate and Honorary Memberships.
To pay your membership fee, please send an e-transfer to finance@africacentre.ca, stating that membership is the reason for transfer.
