Program Outcomes

Seniors-Wellbeing-&-Engagement-header

Every stream of programming responds to documented needs of ACB seniors:

Digital Literacy

Addresses “digital exclusion” that prevents seniors from accessing health care, communication tools, and essential information.

Intergenerational Activities

Preserves cultural knowledge, reduces ageism, strengthens identity in youth, and restores elders’ sense of purpose.

Wellness and Physical Activity

Counteracts chronic disease, improves mobility, and promotes mental health and community belonging.

Arts, Culture & Storytelling

Celebrates African identities, facilitates emotional expression, and builds social cohesion through creativity.

Social Outings & Community Engagement

Reduces isolation and reconnects seniors to the wider community.

Navigation Support & Advocacy

Helps seniors access services that are often difficult to navigate due to language, culture, or unfamiliar systems.

Financial Literacy & Elder Safety

Equips seniors to manage finances confidently and protect themselves from fraud and exploitation.

Every activity — no matter how simple — has a strategic purpose rooted in research, community consultation, and an understanding of the realities ACB seniors face.
